This Year we are Thankful for Season 5 of “A Toy Store Near You”!

It’s Thanksgiving so us here at Toy Store Guide would like to share what we are thankful for.

Firstly, the entire Toy Community should be thankful for all the Toy Stores that have made it through another year, as well as the NEW toy shops that have opened.

OHH, and for a new season of “A Toy Store Near You”

For a lot of people Thanksgiving is about watching Football but this year the fine folks at The Nacelle Company are serving the main course with SEASON 5 of the show that highlights toy stores and their owners. They set the table with five new episodes all available today on Amazon Prime.

These episodes make for great after dinner entertainment. They are so exciting they will in fact counter the effects of tryptophan. Some of you gluttons will devour all five episodes in one sitting. Personally, I like to take my time and savor them throughout the next few days.

Either way, let’s take a look at what’s on the table in Season 5:

Earth to Kentucky in Kellington, KY

What can we expect out of season 5? According to director and Nacelle Company Founder Brian Volk-Weiss we can expect more of what we have learned to love. Mini documentaries showcasing different Toy Stores with toy store owners who are as interesting as the stores they run.

“Five new awesome stores and stories” said Volk-Weiss about the latest season of “A Toy Store Near You”. The show still has the store owners record and send in their own footage under the direction of Volk-Weiss and producers like Rich Mayerik.

I asked Brian, who introduces each episode from the toy room in his home, how he keeps his toy shelves clean. He replied that he simply doesn’t, but he is about to upgrade his shelves to ones with glass and the toy collection would be dusted for the first and most likely last time. So we can look forward to a different look in season 6.

A few of us from Toy Store Guide got to chat with the Nacelle crew at New York Comic Con last month when they announced the release date for this season. At that time it seemed like this new season was in the distant future. But time flies and the new season is out now!

At NYCC Nacelle let us and everyone else know that they plan on continuing on with “A Toy Store Near You” for the foreseeable future. Recently we learned that Season 6 is already in post production and a seventh season is already planned. Brian Volk-Weiss stated that he hopes to release 2 seasons a year and it would be great to make it to 50 episodes. It’s important to remind viewers that proceeds from the shows goes directly to the Toy Stores featured and by watching these shows we are all helping Nacelle to make more episodes and thus by proxy we are helping local independent toy stores!

So sit back and watch and check out the new season. If you want to multitask, you can scroll through the socials of your local toy shops. So many of them are going to hold amazing sales this weekend. Most start on Black Friday and continue into Small Business Saturday.
