What are you Watching?: “A Toy Store Near You” is back with Season 4.

The nice folks over at Nacelle gave us all the Christmas present of more ToyCentric television programs.

“A Toy Store Near You” is back with Season 4.

When COVID shut down the nation in early 2020, Brian Volk-Weiss and his team immediately started contacting Toy Stores around the country and figured out the logistics on how to produce the series with proceeds from the episodes going to help the toy shops featured.

Of course you know The Nacelle Company as the minds behind hit shows like “The Toys That Made Us”, “The Movies That Made Us”, and “Behind the Attraction”.

Season 4 “kicked off” on Christmas Day on Amazon Prime and Vimeo featuring:

Super Happy Incredible Toys in Houston, TX

Toy de Jour in Chicago, IL

Dr. Tongue’s I Had That Shoppe in Portland, OR

Totally Rad Toyhouse in Nashville, TN

Toys From The Past in Lincoln, NE

Dr. Tongue’s I Had That Shoppe was one of the first stores we profiled when we started, back then we had no idea about the awesome Toy Community in the Portland area.

Speaking of amazing Toy Communities… Chicago has been known far and wide for its Toy Culture, and Toy de Jour embodies that. When we reached out for permission to add them to the website, they were excited to be apart and sent back a list of other amazing Toy Stores in the Chicago area.

I am probably most excited to watch the episode about Totally Rad Toyhouse. For almost two years we have been following their journey of how they dealt with COVID and moving to a bigger/better space right down the street from their original. You can say this about so many Toy Shop owners, but they are the best example of how good people can be. Talk to any of their customers for two minutes and you will get a feel for the atmosphere and friendship they provide in their store. Talking about you PK!

Prior seasons of “A Toy Store Near You” introduced us to awesome toy stores like our friends at Farpoint Toys & Collectibles, whose episode was produced and aired while they were building back after a fire occurred in their shop while it was closed for COVID. I can tell you first hand that they are back open and better than ever… On September 4th they reopened and held a toy show and we were able to stop by. It was great meeting the “television stars” and a bunch of Toy Collectors in person.

The latest season of “A Toy Store Near You” is not enough for you to sink your teeth into?

Great news… “ToyShop On Tour” has completed its first season. The show stars Joe, Gav, and Matt the Cameraman, who we first met on Season 1 of “A Toy Store Near You”. They have produced 12 episodes that document them driving to over 30 toy shops throughout the United Kingdom. Watch all 12 Episodes now streaming on YouTube.

Keep an eye out for more shows from the gang over at Leicester Vintage & Old Toy Shop including another project from the UK and the inevitable trip to the United States for a cross country toy hunt.

Well, now that the presents are all unwrapped, it is time to play with our “new” toys and watch some great TV… Just like Santa intended.
