The Toy Store Guide wants to remind all the collectors to thank their local toy shop.…
The best way to thank your local or any toy store is by stopping in and taking something home. Our goal at Toy Store Guide is help keep toy stores open. When you make a purchase from them you are helping them stay open!
Often these places are more than just stores. They are places where we feel at home, feel welcome… Places that keep us sane. Places where the shopkeep knows who we are and when they get a product in they know we would like they reach out.
Your local toy shop will hold something for you. They understand who you and I are as collectors.
The big box stores do not care about us. They hold nonsense preorders then cancel them. They smash things when they ship. They do not put effort into their toy sections. They only care about shareholders.
It should go without saying, but let’s say it anyway, the small businesses do care about us and they respect and need our business. When you shop at a local toy store you are helping to keep it open and helping owner pay his or her bills and make a life for themselves.
Why drive to Walmart and Target just see the bare toy aisles?
There are full pegs and shelves at the vintage Toy Stores. Even among those independent toy stores that specialize in new figures. Their shelves are full while Walmart and Target are empty.
Many Toy Stores have extended hours!
It’s always a good idea to double check before driving to a small business. But this time of year a lot of stores are extending their daily hours and opening more days a week. Some places are open 7 days a week. Being open more hours and more days gives all of us more time to visit and pick up presents for our loved ones (and ourselves).
