Let’s hang out and talk Toys and Toy Stores!

Real Quick, let’s talk about something annoying… Recently the site was hit with malware. So annoying, talk about a waste of time. We think we found it all and fixed everything, sorry to anyone who visited the site looking for a toy store and instead got garbage. We can’t understand why people would dedicate time to attack websites but we will continue to dedicate our time to sharing cool toy stores… Our positivity will always beat their negativity!

Now to the main event,
EVENT being the main word.

The Toy Store Guide will be represented at some upcoming events, that means we can meet up and talk about our favorite toys, toy stores, and any manner of other subjects (it could be like a free-form jazz odyssey of nostalgia).

When: The craziness starts the last weekend of April. April 30th and May 1st.
Where: New York and New Jersey. This is our home court.
What: That is where the excitement starts…

On April 30th we will be a part of FerryCon at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library (Dobbs Ferry, New York).

FerryCon is the library’s yearly Comic Con event. Two years ago they had to cancel, last year they held a virtual event that we were excited to participate in, and this year they are super excited to be back in person and we are stoked to be a part of the triumphant return.

The Plan: Show up in our company car, play 80’s music, and talk to anyone who will talk to us.

Did we mention that the Toy Store Guide company car is a 1981 DeLorean?

Check out our Virtual Panel from 2021 FerryCon with our friends from Hunting Nostalgia

FerryCon is free for everyone to attend. All are welcome to come join in the fun. Thanks to the Dobbs Ferry Public Library for inviting us to attend and to Tim Deery & Anthony Moretta for putting the event together.

For more information about FerryCon and to sign up to be an exhibitor check out their website.

The weekend doesn’t stop there!

If our 40 year old car makes it back from New York then the very next day we will bring the excitement to The Big Kid Toy Show & Pop Culture Flea Market!

This toy show extravaganza is put on by our friends at The Big Kid Store in Cream Ridge, New Jersey. Mike and Bri are always bringing the crazy to toy shows and cons but a few times a year they like to throw a shindig of their own. This outdoor event is held at the New Egypt Flea Market Village and promises to be a collectors dream. Spots to be a vendor are only $20, this means more sellers can easily afford a spot, or a larger spot, and often bring toys that they might not take to other events where spaces cost a bit more.

FYI: Rumor is that there are still spaces available so if you are thinking about selling some toys to make room for more toys then head over to The Big Kid Stores Facebook page for more info.

This is another event that is free to attend so come out and join the Toy Community!

Need more convincing to make the trek over? Well Tinkerbee’s Store is only 10 minutes away from the Flea Market. I’d say that you can make this a two-for but I think it’s more like a 100-for…

Recently I was at NJ ToyCon in Wayne, New Jersey. It was the first big show in north Jersey since Covid restrictions and numbers have begun to subside. It was great to see so many people talkin’ toys. The biggest surprise was learning how many people were meeting for the first time after becoming virtual friends over the last few years. That’s something I think the Toy Community can get behind and I am excited to meet as many Toy Collectors, Artists, and Toy Store Hunters as possible. See you there!
