Toy Store Guide: Progress Report

First, Oregon, Wow. The level of Oregon’s toy culture is amazing. I need to get to the Northwest as soon as possible.

Now onto our main topic…

Last month we launched Toy Store Guide with 3 stores. Now we showcase more than 50 with more toy stores being added almost daily. We started Toy Store Guide to help people find toy stores but for a little while there we weren’t sure if our fellow toy hunters or the toy stores would also be interested in the site.

Well we were extraordinary pleased to find out that Toy Hunters and Toy Stores are interested and really understand what we are trying to build. So much so that I personally am embarrassed that I ever doubted it. The number of people reaching out to us and letting us know that they have been looking for something like Toy Store Guide is what keeps us stoked to keep moving forward.

Our sincerest thank you to everyone who checked out the site, followed us on the socials and especially to those of you who submitted stores around the country. KEEP THEM COMING.

Thank you also to all the stores that are allowing us to profile their shops. There are so many mind-blowing stores across the country. I knew there were but had no clue how many and how awesome they would be. I am sure we have only scratched the surface.

The toy community is as strong as it is diverse. It is a community that helps bring each other up (and helps others spend their cash). Every store we reach out to and every store we visit tells us about other stores, some right around the corner and others across the country. I recently got the chance to visit TC’s Rockets in San Diego (a must visit spot if you are in Southern California). They let me know about Now Or Never Comics (also in San Diego) as well as BobaKhan Toys and Collectibles in Everett, Washington. I was thrilled to let them know that BobaKhan was one of the three stores we launched with.

Now Or Never let me know that Super7 had a store only a few blocks away and even called to ask them to stay open a few extra minutes so I could check out one of their two brick and mortar locations (both in California). The help and acceptance into the toy community is truly appreciated.

When we launched, we knew of a bunch of stores that we wanted to feature… Toy de Jour in Chicago was on that list. When we reached out to them they were quick to let us know about all the Chicago area toy spots. They already had a list that they give to their customers to help toy hunters as well as their fellow shop owners. We are currently reaching out to all of those spots.

We are working as fast as we can to reach out to toy stores and post their shops. This all takes time. Thanks for all of your support and patience while we grow.
